Agriculture | n. phr.
olive tree that has an only trunk, that is typical of intensive plantations and super-intensive plantations, and whose growth habit facilitates mechanised harvest.

Example

The height of olive trees differs with variety, ranging from bush-shaped, short-stature, multi-trunk trees to tall single-trunk trees. The single-trunk varieties are preferred over the former as they make it easy to shake the tree to harvest the fruit, as is commonly done. Weed control is also easier in single-trunk trees.
